BIG DAY!!

So today is a big day for me and my career. I've been working on a graphic for the past few months and it was a graphic that was going to go on the Chris Bosh (from the Toronto Raptors) Signature Apparel, exclusive only to Canada. Today it goes in retail stores all across Canada. I'm excited cause I got to be part of creating the Chris Bosh Brand for Nike and I hope I continue with this. I'm so excited. Here is a piece from youtube where he talks about the apparel and the shoes that make up his signature collection. LOL it's so funny, who would've thunk, me designing an NBA athlete's logo LOL!!

SO LONG REALITY TV!!

So the quality of reality TV is more crap than ever. I mean it wasn't good quality to begin with but it just got really annoying and so fake. Ever since Nip/Tuck got all fucked up on me after the second season, I had a void to fill in that TV show spot. Bryan mentioned to me about this HBO series called True Blood and he said that I should check it out. So when we got back on our trip, I watched it and now I'm absolutely HOOKED!!! So now my TV show line up is complete! Gossip Girl, Heroes, True Blood, Entourage, Californication & Greys Anatomy. Well Greys is getting kinda stupid too and I still have ti finish Californication but I love that show!!

FINALLY!!! After years of longing and wanting a Macbook, the time finally came for me to get one! I GOT MY MACBOOK!!! I'm so excited! This was my 30th birthday present to myself! Well it was either this or another surfing trip, and since that wasn't happening with my over excess of binge travelling this year, I thought it was time I got an upgrade form my old computer. I mean my emac is 8 years old and not getting any faster so it was time for an upgrade! WOOT WOOT!!

MAXWELL YOU'RE MY HERO!

The man straight up ROCKED that fucking concert last night! ROCKED IT! As he says in one of his songs.."R-O-C-K with you baby..". It's so hard to find performers that can sound EXACTLY like their layered digital recording that is sold world wide and to NOT have an album in about 4 years and still have a fan base like that and kill the stage like that it's just unreal! I will definitely get his new album when it comes out. He previewed 2 of his songs and GODDAMN!! Let me tell you, he also put some nasty dirty funky get down nitty gritty twist on my favorite song, "Till The Cops Come Knockin" He's my fucking hero and makes me want to start writing again!

Maxwell, you are the shit!

BTW Jazmine Sullivan opened up for him as well. She's MAAAAD GOOD live too! I just got her album and I wish I listened to her whole performance, but we were busy eating dinner lol!

CHINESE LANTERN FESTIVAL

Last Saturday, Alysia, Dwight and I went to Ontario Place to see the Chinese Lantern Festival. Last year I saw this driving on Lakeshore and I told Leesh that I wanted to see it the following year. It was pretty cool and looking at my pics now, you really don't realize how cool these things really are! I haven't posted up my pics yet, but For those who are interested, here are a few samples from that night.

Thanks to Maur for hooking us up with tickets!

MUSIC WEEK

Yesterday, Maureen, Rommel, Alysia and I went to see Robin Thicke at Kool Haus. This was the second time the girls would see him live and mine and Rommel's first. From what I gathered, this was only the first few times they've performed this set. It seemed rushed and mic levels were totally off the whole night. Maybe I'm just picky since I've done some performing myself, but I know when mic levels are off and last night was it.

He sings good live. As far as stage presence is concerned...eh..LOL! I'll leave it at that. I don't want to disrespect the guy cause he is talented. So I'll leave no more comments. He did save the night however by performing Brown Sugar by D'Angelo. I had to give him respect for that.

This coming Sunday, Alysia and I will be watching...

MAXWELL!!

He is the one person of my list of "If you had to see one person live in concert.." so I'm very excited to see him. We'll be going to the concert with Gina and Doz so it will be fun. I can't wait! His album is taking forever and from what I hear on his myspace page, this shit will be HAWT!!

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!

This has to be one of the coolest pics I've ever taken. For some reason, the NBA trophy got brought into work and basically this turned into a photo-op with all the employees. Just to think that this trophy was touched by legends such as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Kobe Bryant, Shaq and so on...you dun know there must be some STD's up in that trophy LOL! Maybe it was a good thing I wasn't allowed to touch it!

I'M BACK!!!

Well technically I've been back for a few days now. The trip to Puerto Plata was awesome! I didn't think I'd have so much fun. Bryan is a good guy to travel with. As soon as we got to the resort, he made friends and by the end of the week, we pretty much had our own crew consisting of 4 Brits and 6 people from Toronto. The bus ride back to the resort was hilarious and the flight home was lovely.

Our flight there and back had a total of 70 people on the plane. I love empty flights, It makes it so much easier and more comfortable flying with a whole row to yourself!

The resort we went to was Blue Bay Villas Doradas. I've had my hesitations visiting Puerto Plata and now that I've gone, I really wouldn't mind going back. The resort was small yet beautiful! The beach was dark brown and HOT, something I'm not use to when I go down there but still it was lovely to sit there and listen to the waves. The most important part is that the food was GREAT! I miss Dominican Food.

Now lets get to the good part...

I FINALLY WENT SURFING!!!!!!!!!! So I had this vision of me recording the moment when I finally got on a wave, the problem was however, noone was there to take the video or pictures. Bryan and I were told to go in the water at the same time. At that point really I didn't care. It was all about living for the moment. I can proudly say that I stood up on my very first wave. I had to. Jim had placed a challenge on me that I had to stand up since he did. I rode the wave for about 10 seconds, lifted my arms up and yelled and fell in the water. It was incredible. It's really hard to explain it. I was SO NOT FIT for the sport. The one thing that you really need to do are push ups. You do this to avoid the wave, you do this to get off the board and really I can't do a push up on steady ground, let alone a wave. The one picture B managed to take of me tho was me paddling out into the water to catch a wave. As you can tell the waves we were riding were ummm yeah BIG! I don't care. I loved it even though for a moment I thought this was the worst idea ever. The conditions were not ideal but when dealing with nature, you gotta take whats given to you. It was just surreal watching these surfers. I loved it. Next time I hope to share that experience with Alysia. I really wanted her to see me do it for the first time. Here is a pic of me paddling into oblivion. LOVE IT!

Anyway thats really the gist of my trip. Good times, great people and most important of all, another one off my list. You can look at all my pics here.

2 more months to go and off to Cuba we go!
